Become part of an energetic team that puts the camper first to ensure the camp experience will be a positive, lasting, and vital growing experience.
Camp needs highly motivated people who have a genuine desire to serve our campers. All of our staff are life instructors as well as friends!
Bring your diverse talents and interests for the summer and beyond. Camp Stand By Me needs 30 staff for our summer camping program as well as counselors for our respite programs during the school year.
Summer staff positions include (min. age 18):
- Cabin Counselors work with a team of staff to provide care for our campers throughout the summer. Assist with camper care and help campers as they participate in the numerous camp activities.
- Program Instructors lead activities in at least two of the areas listed to the left as well as working as a team to lead evening activities for the whole camp and helping a cabin group with direct care.
- Registered Nurses packing and passing medications as well as seeing to the first aid and minor infirmities of campers and staff.
Pay and Benefits
All staff and volunteers receive room, board, and accident insurance. Paid staff receives a stipend based on work experience, position, and education.
All staff and volunteers receive regularly scheduled time off both between sessions and during each session.

Situated on 17 acres of beautiful waterfront and forested property with modern cabins and activity spaces. Our property includes a trail for hiking and exploring the out-of-doors, waterfront property with accessible fishing and boating, an indoor pool, a craft building, a recreation lodge, a dining hall, and more. While our property is located in a rural area, we are still close enough for staff to enjoy trips to Mt. Rainier, Tacoma, Seattle, Canada, and many other locations on time off.

Former camp staff have used their experiences to launch or further successful careers in many fields. Past staff and volunteers include educators; social workers; occupational, physical, and recreational therapists; nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals; as well as other human service and related professionals. Camp has also had its share of engineers, scientists, business professionals, and others wishing to share the outdoors with others in this special place in the woods! Former Camp Stand By Me staff can be found in many states around the US and in countries around the world.
