My Day My Way: A Choice-Based Program

At Gateway Adult Services Center, nicknamed "Club Gateway" by staff and participants, there is no shortage of fun and connection.

Gateway offers a dynamic and engaging environment where adults with disabilities can socialize and build connections throughout the day. These programs also offer vital resources, including health screenings, assistive technology labs, and exercise classes.

In the new year, Gateway has expanded its offerings through a new Saturday program called My Day My Way. This program is designed to empower program participants to choose their own structure for their day sessions that feels meaningful, engaging, and true to who they are.

Staff members will serve as facilitators and guides, encouraging exploration, gentle structure, adapt activities for accessibility, and celebrate each participant's achievements.  

My Day My Way in Action

The program will offer two four-hour sessions—one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session will begin with a welcome and a morning social featuring conversation, connection, and news of the day. Participants will then move into a series of activity blocks, including Creative Studio, Movement and Wellness, Life Skills Labs, and Social Connections, with a meal break included.
